I just love farm weddings, and this couple is planning on having theirs in 2021! Tegan and Jake wanted their engagement portraits taken at their family farm while it was in full autumn colour. So in late October I drove out to Crysler, south-east of Ottawa, Ontario and met them at the farm!
As you’d expect, there is plenty of space to hold a wedding, and a lot of options. The question will be how many they can plan for with COVID-19 gathering restrictions. They’re planning on converting one of the large buildings into a reception hall with a ton of white lights, and it’s going to be magical.
Tegan (pronounced Tay-gan) wore a beautiful flowing yellow dress that paired so well with the foliage. As you’ll see, she has the brightest smile! Jake is very much like other farmers I’ve photographed over the years; there’s a certain steadiness to him, and he’d good-natured and easy to get along with. Their pup, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with me! We managed to get a few shots with her but mostly she sped around the farm smelling and exploring everything.
The cows were much more friendly. They were curious about us as soon as we got near, and a bucket of food had them all trotting over to come say hello.
Tegan and Jake, I’m very much looking forward to your wedding next year! Thanks for having me out to the farm for your engagement session!
