Last month a bunch of our old friends from Edmonton came to visit us! First Mike stopped over on the tail end of his Toronto trip, and we had a great time cycling around Ottawa with him and showing him the sights (which included extreme go-karting at Top Karting in Hull… jury’s still out on who won that race!) Then there was a big nerd scholarly conference that brought in our friend Camille, who introduced us to her awesome friend Michaela. And to top it all off, Nick and Michelle also came to said nerd scholarly conference, and brought with them their little guy Willem. And they stayed with us for the week!

Nick and Michelle spent almost a month getting Will excited for his big trip to Ottawa, and the biggest thing he was looking forward to was meeting Meadow! The two got along great: they followed each other around the house, and Will was so gentle with Meadow, who in turn was patient with the toddler behaviour of her new best friend.

Once the rain cleared up, I made sure to get some photos of this little family of three. The next time we see Willem he’ll probably be taller than me! I’m so glad we have these images of them in the meantime.

Nick and Michelle, thank you so much for being the most amazing house guests. We loved seeing you again, and meeting Willem. If you can get him here, we’ll babysit any time :)
