I will always remember Amy and Kevin’s August wedding day, because it took place on our fifth wedding anniversary! They were so sweet and even said Rob could come to dinner if we didn’t want to spend the day apart. And that offer alone tells you what these two are like – welcoming, down-to-earth, and super nice! I arrived at the Terrace Green Bed & Breakfast in Winchester in the 35 degree heat and breathed a huge sigh of relief that the lovely B&B had amazing air conditioning! Amy was getting ready with her sisters, and it really made me wish I had sisters. I saw right away that this family is emotional in the best way: they laugh, hug, and cry together… a lot!
Their ceremony and reception took place at their home just a few minutes away, complete with dogs, chickens, and cats roaming around. Kevin was a little fidgety with anticipation as Amy’s sisters came down the aisle, and when he saw her he was overwhelmed, reminding me of our wedding when Rob cried as I came down the aisle. They said their vows between laughter and happy tears, and the celebration after was like a giant backyard BBQ with their family and friends – just the way they’d planned it. They borrowed plates from their local curling club, a friend made their cake, a family member did flowers. It really was a community coming together to see these two married!
Kevin and Amy, thank you for inviting me to photograph your wedding and to share the first day of your marriage with you. I hope every day is as sunny as that first one :)
