Our Kitchen Renovation A Fresh and Neutral DIY Reno

Ottawa Kitchen Renovation 06

The day is finally here! Today I’m unveiling our kitchen renovation. This job was a lot of sweat (especially for Rob), and while there were no tears (that I remember) there were certainly frustrations! We’ve lived in our house for six years now. The first time we saw it, we fell in love, orange shag...

Our Basement Renovation

It’s safe to say that Rob and I love our house. We loved it the minute we walked in and over two years later we still love it! The house was dated but in excellent shape, which meant that nothing needed to be renovated, but we had a lot of opportunity to make it our own and –hopefully — increase its value in the process. Over the past couple of years year we’ve done some little changes: painted a couple rooms, re-stained our bannisters, put up floating shelving, etc. A few bigger projects were also accomplished, like redoing Rob’s office and upgrading our walk-in closet (which is still in progress…). And of course my home office, which is almost ready to share on the blog! But the two biggest things that needed to be done were the kitchen and the family room in the basement.

Office Makeover Month

When we lived in Edmonton, we had a three bedroom townhouse, which meant that we each got our own office. Our house now also has three bedrooms, and when we first moved we were a bit undecided about what to do with the smaller two. Nursery? Guest room? One office? Two? At the beginning, we both took a a room as an office – me the larger and Rob the smaller. But then we renovated a small room we have in the basement, and Rob moved down there for his office.
