I drove out of Ottawa and headed straight to the farm fields, wishing for the upteenth time that I lived outside the city. Carly and Tyler live in the little town of Finch in North Stormont Township. They’re getting married there in July, and wanted some engagement photos around their home with the fur baby, Fred. After 45 minutes of farms and long country roads, I was greeted at their door by the wriggly Fred, who is clumsy-looking and utterly adorable.
It was one of those days where you watch the skies and refresh the radar every 30 minutes, but by late afternoon the thunderstorm risk passed and it turned into a beautiful summer evening for Kim and Jeff’s engagement session in Carleton Place. These two are so easy-going and so comfortable with each other. They laugh often and smile all the time, and are the type of people you automatically feel you could be friends with. We started the shoot at their home in Carleton Place. Jeff has built an impressive pond in their backyard, and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in it! There are a variety of plants and aquatic critters, and Kim and Jeff told me they often sit by the pond in the evenings.
Jay and Tara are getting married in August 2014, and they wanted to have their engagement photos taken at around the same time of year. So on Labour Day Weekend we headed west to capture some photos. Mother Nature was in a wild mood that day, but these two were real troopers; between the wind and the rain, running to/from the car and through fields, they did it all with smiles on their faces. Must be the love!
