Ashley and Anthony are getting married in September! In June, we met for their golden hour engagement portraits at Ottawa’s Dominium Arboretum. It was a gorgeous night, and we explored some new locations. I love the arboretum for its beautiful light: there are plenty of big trees to provide shade, and interesting bridges, benches, paths and meadows. The place is huge, and looks a little different depending on the month.
Engagement portrait sessions are a great way to get to know your photographer. Most people don’t have professional portraits taken often, so it’s also a nice opportunity to get some practice being in front of a camera before your wedding day. Most people aren’t comfortable having their picture taken: that’s normal, and totally okay! As a photographer, my goal on your wedding day is to help that natural awkwardness feel a little less daunting, while giving you images you love.
Anthony, Ashley, and I walked around the giant park and got to know each other a little better. They’re getting married at the Angus Hill at the Maxville fairgrounds, and I’m looking forward to being back! I hope you enjoy these glory engagement photos!
