I passed Hannah and Pat on a park bench as I walked to our meeting spot. I noticed them because I loved Hannah’s dress. Then I noticed the baby belly and hoped they were my clients. Sure enough! We met a couple minutes later next to the Chateau Laurier. Hannah and Pat wanted their maternity pictures in downtown Ottawa because that’s where Pat proposed! He popped the question around the locks where the canal feeds into the Ottawa river. We meandered down to the very bench and took some pictures there.

They’ve opted not to know the sex of the baby in advance. I think I’d be the same way! There’s something so exciting about that extra surprise. As they told me about their plans for the baby their excitement made them almost giddy. Pat makes Hannah laugh non-stop, and you can tell he’s so proud to become a father. Hannah speaks softly and is easy-going with a ready smile. She’s also a teacher! This is one lucky baby!
