The weather this time of year is hit and miss. We definitely dodged some heavy rain the weekend the Huots had their extended family session. Sometimes I feel a little weather obsessed when it comes to portraits! Can you image how closely I was watching the forecast on my own wedding day seven years ago? Let’s just say it was often. Anyways, the Huots wanted their fall family pictures taken at the Dominium Arboretum in Ottawa, which I love shooting. Yay for giant trees!
This extended family was so much fun to photograph. All three kids were so patient and well behaved for a full hour! And the older two helped out by standing behind me and jumping around and making faces to get their little cousin to smile! Their grandparents obviously love being around them and the whole family, and they didn’t hesitate to get down on the grass to play.
The Huots coordinated their outfits by choosing navy and burgundy/plum. Those colours pop so nice at any time of year! They go well with green leaves or fall foliage. There were redheads in this family too, which always makes me happy! My dad is a redhead and I used to dye my hair as a teenager to try and match. I’m a wannabe. Enjoy the images!
