Charlotte and Alex met me at the Dominion Arboretum near Dow’s Lake on what was probably the first real day of spring in Ottawa. No flowers yet, and no leaves on the trees, but you could just feel it! These two spent a lot of Charlotte’s pregnancy in different cities because Alex had a one-year work term in Ottawa. I can’t even image how difficult doing long distance is, let alone while expecting your first child!

Charlotte was almost nine months pregnant when we took took these photos, but she was so calm, and so energetic, you’d never know it! Alex came to the shoot right after work, and I love that this couple wanted mostly photos of the two of them together. We walked around the Arboretum and talked a bit about the city, where they grew up, and their excitement about the arrival of their little girl. Now that I’ve met these two, I’m really looking forward to photographing their baby in just a few weeks!

Gah! Could she be any more gorgeous? This should be in an ad for a peaceful pregnancy or something. She makes it look so easy!
