Madi and Carter are having their wedding next fall at Stonefields. They like the rustic aesthetic, so I took them to one of my favourite locations in Ottawa for their engagement photos. We’d met online during their wedding photography consultation, but nothing is as good as meeting in person. It’s one of the reasons all of the wedding photography options I offer include a complimentary engagement session. Most couples haven’t had their portraits taken professionally very often, and it’s a chance to get comfortable with me and in front of a camera. We go through a variety of poses so that when their wedding day comes around, it will feel familiar and go smoothly!
The sun was hiding a little but we got some great glow closer as the sun dipped below the clouds closer to the horizon line during golden hour. Madi and Carter took advantage of a discreet outfit change halfway through their session. While not a must, having one dressier look and one more casual gives a ton of variety to engagement portrait sessions with tons of images to choose your favourites from.
We timed the leaves nicely, and there was a ton of warm colour for these autumn portraits. Madi and Carter rocked their session! Check out their images below.
