This maternity session was special to me because Chris is my cousin! He married Megan last spring, are they’re expecting their first baby this month. I photographed these two for their engagement portraits a couple years ago as well, and I enjoyed their wedding as a guest. It’s been a busy couple years for them as they bought their first house in that time, too!
Early spring is a tricky time of year to take portraits. The leaves haven’t come in yet and if you want a natural location the scenery can look a little dreary. The key is having great light, so I suggested doing sunset maternity portraits on a day when we were sure the skies would be clear. This spring has been wet and cold! It took us a few weekends to get a good forecast, but Chris and Megan were flexible. Wow did we luck out! I’d done some scouting a few days prior and found a spot with great evening light. I am absolutely in love with these maternity pictures.
Chris and Megan, I’m so looking forward to meeting your little boy in a few weeks! Thank you for asking me to be part of capturing this special time in your lives.
