Patricia and Kris are getting married this winter at the Brookstreet Hotel, so they wanted some late fall Ottawa engagement pictures to give some variety to their wedding portraits. I love it when couples choose a location that means something to them. Sometimes a gorgeous location is all you need! But a little sentimentality can make images that much sweeter, too. Patricia and Kris took some time to think about where they’d like to have their session. One of their favourite things to do is to go for weekend walks on the Ottawa Greenbelt trails. So we went out together to feed the birds!
We missed most of the leaves but it was a beautiful afternoon at Jack Pine Trail. If you’ve never been there, the trail is one of many in the west end around Moodie Drive. It connects to several other trails in the area, and you can choose the length of loop you want to walk. I used to go there all the time walking with my family. Now Rob and I don’t go too much because there’re no dogs allowed, and what’s a walk these days without the pup?
The birds were out in full force during our session, stocking up for the winter! As we walked along the trails, Kris told me that he’d met Patricia at a party, and wanted to be with her immediately. It’s no surprise why: she is sweet, soft spoken, and quick to smile. You can tell they adore each other, and the both of them just radiate kindness. I loved getting to know them more!
I hope you guys like your engagement portraits! Now come on snow for a winter wedding!
