Oh this family! When they told me they were looking to do a family session, I knew it was going to be good fun wrangling their two boys. They are typical little kids: energetic, loud, silly, creative, and completely obsessed with Paw Patrol. We did their winter family session at Bruce Pit in Nepean. The Arlington Woods tornado devastated the park, and parts of it look like a wasteland. Thankfully, it’s a large area with plenty of trees left! We got lucky to have some snowfall on the ground, even though it was much colder than expected with the wind chill!
Kyle and I went to high school together, and I’m so glad we’ve remained friends. It’s hard to believe we graduated fifteen years ago! I still remember him telling me about his new girlfriend, Jovana. His excitement was so obvious, and he had the good sense to eventually propose! Jovana is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and she looks like a Disney princess.
Eight years later they have two boys. Sully and Sam know me from visits, and they kept me on my toes during the session! It’s always a workout photographing children, but that’s part of what makes it entertaining for me! I have to think outside the box and be flexible.
The last time I photographed this family was four years ago. They were a single child family then, and we were able to Sully in his stroller to take a lot of couple photos. That’s no longer the case! I’m sure their dog Freya was looking down on them from dog heaven and laughing at the boys’ antics. They got their share of licks from dogs in between shutter clicks!
Kyle and Jovana, I hope you like the pictures! As always, I had a blast hanging out with you and boys :) Dinner at our place soon!
