Elisha and Jonathan | Married | Ottawa Wedding & Family Photographer

I met Elisha and Jonathan last winter. We sat down with a hot beverage on a freezing cold evening and after the initial hand shakes and nice to meet you’s I asked them if they lived in Ottawa. With a short laugh they said “No…. we actually live in Australia.” And that was all it took, really. I liked them from the get-go. But these two are the type of couple that get more and more likeable as you get to know them, which is impressive because they make a great first impression.

Elisha and Jonathan met in post-secondary and have been inseparable ever since. From solving math equations to running, their shared interests drew them together, and love has kept them there. Even their parents seem like they’ve been friends forever. In fact, all six of them toured the outback together in a van. But it’s not just their immediate family that I loved watching and photographing on their wedding day. All of their guests were so genuinely happy for the Elisha and Jonathan. The speeches were beautiful and there was happy crying throughout the ceremony and reception. Myself included ;)

Elisha, her mother, and her bridesmaids got ready at Clyde Hall Bed and Breakfast in Lanark. The property was gorgeous, and the bathroom was bigger than my kitchen and living room combined — lots of space for a group of girls to get ready! Jonathan and his groomsmen prepared at his family’s home in Ottawa.

I was lucky to have Chris Quiroz as a second photographer. He captured the guys getting ready and got some great shots throughout the day. Thanks Chris! Wedding Photographer Ottawa_0112 Elisha and Jonathan opted to do a first look before the ceremony. This allowed them to have plenty of time for pictures to be taken in daylight. We did all of their portraits at Temple’s Sugar Bush, which was also the location of the ceremony and reception.

Elisha is allergic to flowers. Talk about challenging! These faux floral arrangements turned out great, though! I love the pinecones.
After their portraits, the Elisha went and hid while guests started arriving for the ceremony.
I think Jonathan got a bit nervous before the ceremony! As soon as he saw Elisha, though… so worth it :)
Just a little excited to be married!After some quick family photos it was party time! The staff at Temple’s turned the hall from a ceremony location into a reception.
Their birch winter cake was made by a family member. Who isn’t a professional, believe it or not!
