Kelsey and Pat got married during a beautiful summer backyard wedding in Crysler, Ontario. Kelsey’s grandfather’s dream had been for his grandchildren to use the property for their weddings, and his memory was cherished throughout the day with tears and happy stories.

The day was gorgeously clear, but extremely hot. While Pat and his groomsmen stayed cool by the pool, Kelsey and her bridesmaids got ready a couple doors down the road. Their baby son Riley visited back and forth between the properties. They call him Smiley Riley, and it’s for good reason. He smiled all through their engagement portraits earlier this spring, and was just as happy watching his parents get married.

The happy couple said their vows in front of family and friends during an outdoor ceremony. Guests sat on old church pews, and cheered for all three of them as they walked back down the aisle. Their reception was held in a billowy white tent at the edge of a farm field, partially shaded by large trees on the property. With MCs that could be stand-up comedians and emotional speeches, the night was that perfect combination of tears and laughter that I love about weddings.
