Rob checks on me from time to time when I’m hunkering down in my office editing. Every time he came in to my office and asked how things were going I pointed at the screen and went “squeeeee!” Dahlia is the cutest kid who makes a thousand different faces. She’s got a few teeth coming in and they’re not in the usual places, which just makes her more adorable. It’s almost her first birthday! Her parents Richard and Dagmara marked the occasion with a fall portrait session near their home in Nepean. It’s extra special when a location has sentimental value in addition to just being pretty! Dahlia and her parents can look back at the images and remember not only what life was like with a one year old, but how they felt about their home and their neighbourhood.
In September, this bunch joined Richard’s sister and her kids as well as his parents for an extended family session. I love family sessions that include aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Not only are the images sentimental, but it’s not often families pull out their cameras to capture interactions among grandparents and children that happen all the time. Extended family sessions don’t allow for a lot of individual time, though. Which is why I loved that this family also had their own portrait time: more baby giggles!
Dagmara and Richard, I had so much fun with you and Dahlia. She’s such a happy, friendly little kid! I hope you love these images of her as a one year old!
