When we go to the East Coast we try to see Kim and Phil. Sometimes we meet them at their cottage on PEI, but when we went to Nova Scotia this summer we swung in to see them in Moncton. They live very conveniently near the highway, and while we go to see them I’m not going to lie – taking two hours off our drive back to Ottawa is a great perk! This year the weather was great and so we squeezed a quick couple’s portrait session at sunset.
Rob and I went to university with Kim, where she was easily one of the biggest brains in the department. She also never took any sass from Rob, which I loved ;) She and Phil have a hyper and fluffy pup named Aspen. He and Meadow LOVE each other! So we catch up while the dogs go bananas chasing each other all over and wrestling. Well, wrestling as much as a 10 pound dog can with an 80 pound dog.
They cooked us an amazing dinner (I’m getting hungry just thinking about it again), and we hurried outside to catch the last of the sun. I forgot that Moncton is very hilly compared to Ottawa, and so the sun disappeared quicker than I’d calculated. We stopped on the side of the road for most of these shots. Portraits don’t need to be too fancy, people! Some good light and a field and we’re in business!
Kim and Phil, thank you again for your hospitality and friendship! Hopefully we can get the fur-babies together again next summer.
