Juliet and Evan had a perfect wedding day in Winchester, Ontario. The sun shone, and the temperature was perfect. And you’ve never seen a more excited bride and groom! Both Juliet and Evan poured themselves into making the day special. For Evan, it came in the form of a Lord of the Rings themed wedding. Subtle nods to Tolkien could be found throughout the day, from the minuscule inscription on his wedding band to the instrumental song as his bride walked down the aisle. Juliet and her girls did their own hair and makeup, and she impressed and entertained the crowd with some of the most thoughtful and beautifully written vows I’ve been privileged to hear.
In an age when weddings can be impressively elaborate, these two kept things simple with a ton of DIY thanks to the help of family and friends. Like most couples, they were focused on being surrounded by friends and family. And I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a wedding where so much love was liberally passed around. This couple is so deeply loved by those close to them, you could feel it through the whole day. There were emotional speeches, tears down the aisle, and some very enthusiastic group dancing!
The wedding took place at Juliet’s parents’ home in Winchester, which was the perfect setting for a backyard wedding. Evan’s groomsmen, friends from university, flew in from all over to celebrate. I think they might have come almost as much to visit with his parents, who they clearly held a lot of affection for! Bride and groom were both so thrilled to be getting married, and both of them were grinning for most of the afternoon and well into the evening.
Juliet and Evan, thank you for entrusting me to capture your wedding day and your engagement portraits. I wish you many years of happiness!
