Maryn and Tyler recently had their engagement photos at the Ottawa Aboretum. They’re getting married next year, so it was time to get them in front of a camera. And while their adorable pup Jake likely won’t be going down the aisle with them, he made a start appearance during their portraits session. Dogs are always allowed!
The Dominium Arboretum is hugely popular in the spring, but it shines just a beautifully in the summer. Golden hour portraits are all hazy and the light is stunning! We wandered around the grounds and got a great mix of candid and posed photos. I really like getting a few far-away shots as well that couples can use for landscape wall art that happens to have them in it!
It’s not my first time there, and it’s a great spot for engagement portraits in Ottawa. Check out Lea and Marcus’ portrait session from last summer, and Juliet and Evan’s engagement photos from last spring. I got to know Maryn and Tyler a little better during the shoot. And poor Tyler had to deal with me calling him Jake (their dog’s name) for the first 20 minutes! Jake was showstopper, though. He had a fresh haircut and a cute bandana, and his grandma was there to look after him. She brought him home for the second half of the session so that Maryn and Tyler could have some time to focus on just them.
This is a long blog post because I had a hard time choosing just a few images. If you love golden hour, fluffy retrievers, and smiling sweethearts, enjoy!
